Kink & Poly Counselling

Affirming Support for Kink, Polyamory & Non-Monogamy

You shouldn’t have to educate your counsellor about your relationships, sexuality, or kink before you can get to the reason you came. I offer knowledgeable, nonjudgmental support where kink, BDSM, polyamory, and other forms of consensual non-monogamy are understood as valid ways of experiencing sexuality and relationships.

Whether you’re exploring something new, navigating differences with a partner, working through communication or boundaries, or simply looking for support from someone who understands these communities, we can focus on what matters to you without treating your relationship structure or sexual interests as the problem.

What is Kink & Poly-Affirming Counselling?

Kink and poly-affirming counselling provides a space where your sexuality and relationship structure are understood in context, rather than automatically treated as something that needs to be changed. You can talk openly about kink, BDSM, polyamory, consensual non-monogamy, and the relationships and communities connected to them without having to start with the basics.

The focus is on what brings you to counselling. That might include communication, boundaries, navigating different needs or interests, exploring identity, adjusting to changes in a relationship, or working through challenges that may have little to do with kink or non-monogamy at all.

Affirming doesn’t mean assuming that everything is working well. We can explore difficulties, uncertainty, conflict, consent, relationship agreements, or patterns that aren't working for you without assuming that kink or non-monogamy itself is the cause.

Why work with me?

Talking openly about sexuality, relationships, kink, and non-monogamy can feel vulnerable, especially if you’ve had experiences of being misunderstood or judged. My role is to create a space where you can talk honestly about what’s happening without having to defend or justify your relationship structure or sexual interests.

My approach is collaborative, non-pathologizing, evidence-based, and grounded in compassion and curiosity. I won’t assume that kink or non-monogamy is the problem, or that you need to change who you are. We’ll focus on what brings you to counselling and work at a pace that feels right for you.
