Couples Counselling

Reconnect Through Curiosity, Communication, and Care

Relationships and sexuality change over time. Differences in desire, challenges with intimacy, difficult conversations, or changes in how you experience sex can leave partners feeling disconnected or unsure how to move forward.

Couples counselling offers space to slow down, better understand each other's experiences, and explore what you would each like your sexual relationship to look and feel like. You don't need to have everything figured out or agree on every concern before you begin. A willingness to approach each other with curiosity is a meaningful place to start.

What is Couples Sex Counselling?

Couples sex counselling offers a space to talk openly about sexuality, intimacy, and the things that can be difficult to navigate together. It’s a collaborative process where both partners can explore their experiences, concerns, and hopes without needing to have all the answers before they begin.

Sexual concerns rarely exist in isolation. Desire, communication, stress, health, past experiences, and the everyday realities of life can all shape how partners connect sexually. Rather than looking for someone to blame, we can explore how each of you experiences what’s happening, understand where your perspectives differ, and consider what you’d like to change.

Our work is guided by your needs and goals. Sessions may include education, guided conversations, reflection, and practical tools to support communication and understanding. Together, we can explore what you would each like your sexual relationship to be like, with room for different needs, boundaries,

and preferences.

Why work with me?

I know that talking about sexuality can feel vulnerable, especially when partners have different experiences, needs, or expectations. I approach these conversations with curiosity and compassion, making room for each person’s perspective without judgment.

Rather than deciding who is right or treating differences as problems to fix, we’ll explore what each of you is experiencing, what might be getting in the way of connection, and what you would like to change. We’ll move at a pace that respects your comfort and boundaries, creating space for honest conversations without expecting you to have all the answers.

My hope is that our work helps you understand each other better, communicate more openly, and find new ways to approach your sexual relationship that feel meaningful to both of you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can we expect in our first session?

Our first session is an opportunity for you both to share what’s bringing you in, what you hope to get out of our work, and what feels important for me to understand. I’ll ask questions to learn more about your experiences, relationship, and goals, while making space for each of your perspectives.

We’ll explore relevant parts of your sexual health, history, and current concerns together. This may take more than one session, and we’ll decide on next steps collaboratively. There’s no expectation to have everything figured out before you begin.
